I would have liked a margarita, but all they had is supermarket, pre-made, Jose Quervo mix. I don't believe, incidentally, that Jose has ever been to Mexico. I believe that he was born across from the Budweiser brewery in St. Louis. I ordered the "chili relleno special. The only thing special about it was the fact that it was left in the microwave for an extraordinary amount of time. I can't stand these Mexican restaurants that serve crap and get away with it because people live too far away from decent Mexican food. Yuck!

Very tasty find! They actually moved around corner from this address (6/29/11) but I asked in the bank and found it. This is better Mexican food than my town in CA! I had a taco and an enchilada a la carte, both hot and tasty. The Chios and salsa too were right on. Met the boss too, Antonio. Excellent place overall for r road trip drop in lunch.

I first went to Pachanga's (twice) when they were down on Capital and it was too small to accommodate all their patrons. It was obvious the first time I went there that they were more popular than the current location allowed; it was always crowded with a long line of customers waiting be seated. And for good reason! Pachanga's is, by far, one of the best Mexican restaurants in Idaho Falls. Now that they've moved to Park Avenue, I can easily say that the atmosphere is open, hip and comfortable. Their staff has always been friendly, and the service is fast. In fact, the last time we went there, three different people asked if we were enjoying our Pachanga's experience. And now, the food. Yum! I had the standard burrito and some other common menu items, but my favorite is the fish tacos. My friend got the Chile Colorado Burrito and was equally satisfied. And how can you review a Mexican restaurant without commenting on the chips and salsa, because really, if that's not good, is it really worth waiting for your entree? I think they have the best salsa in town, and their homemade chips are fresh! Now that they've moved to a new location, I have nothing negative to say about Pachanga's. If you're looking for a good Mexican meal, I highly recommend eating in!

I have to admit that this wasn't the experience we were expecting after reading the reviews. Yes, the food was good, but the menu seemed to be lacking to me. My wife actually ended up ordering something that was not even ON the menu, and only becuase the waitress had mentioned it after my wife asked for a spicier dish. They didn't have a liquor license when we visited, so the margaritas were a premixed design. I'm kinda a snob for 'ritas', so I opted for a beer. There is plenty of seating here, though when we first walked in it seemed to have more a fast food appeal than a regular restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly and the service was very speedy.

I love everything about Pachangas, except their salsa. It's not my style, but it's not bad! Their burros are huge, good price and stuffed full of food. The pollo fundido might be their best menu item. They also have delicious asada tacos.

Stopped in based on Yelp reviews. Shrimp fajitas were excellent! Definitely worth checking out.

I absolutely love going to a medical billing seminar so I can have lunch at Pachangas. This place is amazing. The chicken tacos are my favorite, with the homemade soft corn shells and the just right flavored chicken, 2 is never enough. The chips and salsa are delicious with homemade tortilla chips and spicy but sweet but smokey all at the same time salsa. Such a treat and a pleasure to enjoy.

Love coming here. I usually order a combination and it always comes out extremely fast. Nothing over the top, but I really enjoy the dish. The service is awesome too, they are very nice and not over the top annoying. I recommend them to everyone who asks.

In Idaho falls for a few days and decided on some Mexican food. I ordered take out and got their carne asada burro. What I love about this place is they give you chips...enough to last throughout the night, and they were good, with the salsa. The burro was great. Everything tasted fresh and the meat was really tender... I enjoyed the heck out of it in my hotel room. Great place would go again when in town

Food was great and filling! Chips were a little stale, but the salsa was good and guacamole was excellent! Environment was nice for a late lunch and the servers were friendly.

The food is okay, so long as they're willing to make it fresh. The few times I've dined-in have been good, but when I ordered carry-out my food was less than satisfactory. I worked less than a block away when my boss and co-workers had me place an order for carry-out; they were late with the order, I had to wait an additional 30 minutes for them to bring out the order, and when I got it back to work it was STONE COLD! There's NO way it could have cooled off so much when I only walked it a block down the street and opened it right away.

I grew up in Utah and now I live in Idaho, so yeah, I've never really had super authentic Mexican food, so take my love for this place with grain of salt oh ye who have had the real thing. My husband and I really enjoy this place. It's fast, the portions are a good size, and the prices are very affordable. It's easy to squeeze in a meal before going to see a movie at the Center theater right across the street. I always get the enchiladas with corn tortillas as I am somewhat sensitive to gluten and can't have regular (I have no idea if they're certified gluten free or anything, but I have no stomach upset with the enchiladas). My husband usually gets a big burrito. We've been here hundreds of times and have always had fast, friendly service. I'm sorry to see they are badgering the people who have negative reviews. I know it must be hard to get negative reviews, but the answer is never trying to cloak your identity and harass those who had a bad experience! You can't please everyone.

The restaurant is nice and the staff is great, but for good food, I'd go elsewhere. Jalisco's is much better! I ordered a combo plate with rice, beans, taco, enchilada and tamale. Everything was okay, but certainly not the best that I've ever had. The salsa is good, but the chips tasted almost stale. My mom ordered the chile verde and was less than satisfied with her plate. The meat was as if they boiled it and then added it to salsa verde, not actual chile verde which should be cooked in a highly flavored sauce. I tasted hers and agreed that it was no good. They also have a very small menu, not much to choose from here. Go to Jalisco's instead!

Um, not so great. I'm also from CA and work in a Hispanic neighborhood in OR with GOOD Mexican food. I work with Mexican immigrants in their homes and they share recipes with me. I make my own tortillas and I know what fresh tastes like - and it's not like this! I came here on a road trip from Portland to Yellowstone. This place was really disappointing. I agree with Jerry about reading the reviews and not being thrilled. First of all, I don't know where other Yelpers were finding actual Mexican dishes. The menu was very small and kind of what you'd expect from a Taco Time or something. I had the enchiladas suizas (the only enchiladas on the entire menu) and they were really tasteless. The tortillas were tough and not fresh and the chicken was dry. The chips weren't fresh either. It was weird to me that 1) a white woman was hostess, 2) my food was ready in literally about 5 minutes (um, I'm all about speed, but exactly how much of it was pre-cooked?) and 3) when my plate came out, there was "American" sour cream (the big glop we're all used to) and a green salad on the side (you know, like what you'd get with your $10 Steak Night dinner). I've never had an iceberg salad served in a Mexican restaurant.

Part of the big 3 in Idaho Falls. 3 must visit restaurants. Mings, Snake Bite, and of course Pachanga's. The food, service, and quality are all top notch here. A very good Mexican place. What I like to see in a restaurant. They put their own unique flavors and recipes into their dishes. Not the same old recipes cloned by thousand of Mexican restaurants. The salsa is not for everyone either. Its a sweet taste with a little zip. Its one of those things that divides people. Like mayo in miracle whip. Everything from the burros and the many varieties of enchiladas is good here. Haven't been disappointed yet and I probably had everything on the menu. Got to give a shout out to my favorite waiter Maurice. That guy is the best.

Look, I don't know much about Mexican food but I do know what my taste buds like. I have had their lobster tacos and their carne asada plate and I really like them! Their service is really good, too. I work right next to them so I eat there a lot and they are really great. Even my baby daughter likes them!

Pachanga's offers a slightly different spin than your traditional mexican restaurants. The bean dip appetizer had chile verde with pork. Their 'lobster' enchiladas was different yet good. I loved their key lime pie which had a gourmet touch. Their traditional offerings are also prepared well.

This place is excellent! The staff is friendly (the manager remembered our names after our first visit and always greets us by name) and the food is perfect. It's a nice mix of traditional Mexican and SoCal Baja Mexican. Really fantastic, I can't recommend them enough! Try the lobster enchiladas and a Dos Equis, it's the perfect meal.

Nice addition to the downtown area. Excellent fast and friendly service, very good salsa, and a spacious setup inside, plus outdoor seating too. So far the best Mexican food I've had in Idaho Falls. Surprisingly, that's saying something. :)

Good Mexican food, and friendly service. Very busy for a Saturday noon, with lots of families and older people. We had the lobster enchiladas and the appetizer plate. Most of the appetizer plate was great (although the nacho dip was awful), lobsters were pretty good. Free chips and salsa were very standard--good, but nothing special. Not a bad meal, but there are more authentic Mexican restaurants with better food and similar prices nearby.

I can't believe there aren't more reviews for this place. My wife and I always stop here to grab some chips and salsa to go when we pull into I.F. from Logan. This is hands down the best mexican food in I.F. You can't go wrong with any of their burritos or the lobster enchiladas. Awesome.

Awesome mexican place (family owned). Friendliest servers in town. Chili Colorado Burro!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
